The STORY
My name is Robert, founder of Ike's pedalboards.
I picked up the nickname “Ike” in elementary school, and it has stuck ever since.
From a young age, I was drawn to ‘all things mechanical’ — taking things apart, customizing them, and putting them back together. I started with bicycles, then moved on to minibikes, go-carts, motorcycles, muscle cars, and hot rods. My father taught me early that "Good Tools Equals Good Work," and I adopted the "Buy Once, Cry Once" mindset — investing in quality tools that last.
Right after high school, I began an apprenticeship at a Prototype Machine Shop where I learned design, precision machining, and attention to detail. I soon began working on projects for Detroit’s Big Three automakers and fabricating for the custom car and motorcycle industry. I have continued to design & fabricate for those industries for the past 48 years.
My wife and I have two sons — a guitarist and a drummer. When the guitarist graduated from college, I built him a custom pedalboard for his home studio: simple, functional, and with a hotrod flair.
At Ike’s, decades of machining experience fuel a passion for building pedalboards that combine rugged durability with elegant functionality. Each board is made to inspire creativity and confidence, crafted for musicians who demand the best. Like a guitarist chasing the perfect tone, I obsess over every detail—from sourcing premium U.S. materials to hand-finishing each board. Every pedalboard reflects the soul of its player.
I build in small batches to keep quality high. No cutting corners. Ever. I set out to make a board guitarists can be proud of — and rely on.

In 2022, he joined a tour and needed a travel-ready board that could handle the demands of the road and fit in a plane carry-on bin. That board became my prototype. Today’s model stays true to that original design with just a few refinements. Over the past three years, he’s toured the world with it — no issues. Everywhere he plays, people ask, “Where did you get that board?” & “How can I get one?” And that’s how Ike’s pedalboards began.
